Store Stories – Illinois Artisans Gallery Chicago

Established in 1985, the Illinois Artisans Shop was the first gallery of its kind in the state. It showcases one of the most diverse collections of handcrafted work in the Midwest. ILArtisans The Illinois Artisans Program focuses national attention on the rich heritage of the fine crafting that exists in Illinois. Juried artists participate in art sprees, craft festivals, exhibitions and other events held at three locations throughout Illinois.

On display are jewelry, ceramics, metal, painting, wood, glass wearables and much more! My jewelry been part of the Chicago gallery since 2009 just after I started my business. I’m so grateful for the gallery’s support, which has been integral to building my business. Among the opportunities have been trunk shows and art sprees. I was also selected to design and create a brooch for “straight-shooter” Dawn Clark Netsch and an awardee who exemplified her leadership.

Store Stories – Citywoods

Citywoods is a beautiful little gallery located in downtown Highland Park, IL and specializes in unique handmade pieces from all over the country. This gem of a shop first opened in 1988 and is still run by its original owner, Diana and Robert Schaps. Citywoods showcases a vast variety of art pieces ranging from beautiful wooden furniture and room decorations to fine handmade jewelry and clothing.

Nearly five years ago, at my first One of a Kind Show, a buyer from Citywoods came by my booth in the emerging artist section and bought an original Luna Pendant with peridot for herself. A couple of weeks later, they contacted me with a wholesale order. Citywoods was one of the first galleries to sell my jewelry, and it has been a wonderful relationship ever since. They continue to feature the Luna pendant with a variety of gemstones as it’s one of their best sellers.

So if you are ever looking for a unique gift idea, drop by Citywoods, or check out their online shop here, because chances are you will find just what you are looking for!

Wedding Parties!

We has so much fun at Indie Wed! Held at the Ravenswood Event Center, a giant loft filled with 50’s and 60’s porsches, mercedes and ferraris, it was the perfect space for an event of this kind. Every booth was fun and unique, making all of us want to get married (again). Great music made the day feel more like a party than a show and we are still dreaming of the amazing food. We were so lucky to be next to Uptown Brownie…our waistlines still haven’t forgiven us:).

We also met Poladora, a really cool new company that provides a combined wedding registry from local shops.  They are having a launch party in which we will be attending on Thursday, February 28th from 6pm – 9pm. Click here for the free registration.

Not only were the vendors wonderful, but the couples walking around were fabulous too. We met a lot of new couples and are excited to share our upcoming projects with you so please stay tuned. In the meantime, we’ve uploaded some of our newest wedding and engagement rings to our website, check them out here.

Indie Wed

What an exciting year already! I can’t believe it’s almost February!

Currently I’m preparing for my next big project, Indie Wed, an alternative to the traditional bridal expo. If you are getting married in the near future, or know someone who is, and you live in Chicago, then you should definitely try to attend this beautiful and artistic event.

At Indie Wed there will be many different vendors, giving you the opportunity to pick and choose one-of-a-kind wedding items such as jewelry, decorations, flower arrangements, cakes, music and much, much more! While picking and choosing the pieces to your unique wedding, you will also be supporting Chicago’s smaller, independent businesses.

I myself will be showing samples of wedding and engagement rings and I couldn’t be more excited to be part of this important event! For those of you interested in collaborating on rings, make sure to stop by my booth #54 on the first floor.

If you’re not getting married, but would like to reset your engagement ring or create an anniversary band, please don’t hesitate to contact us to set up an appointment. If you’re not in Chicago, please don’t let geography stop you. We work with people virtually all the time, it’s amazing how that technology works 😉

Indie Wed will take place on February 2nd, from 10 am until 4 pm at the Ravenswood Event Center. The entrance is located at 4043 N. Ravenswood Avenue, Chicago. Tickets are now on sale, please click here to purchase your ticket.

Hope to hear from you soon!

Happy Holiday Season

We have been busy preparing for the upcoming One of a Kind Show at the Merchandise Mart, which will take place December 6 -9. The One of a Kind Show is our biggest show of the year, and we always get very excited during the weeks leading up to it.

Because this is always such a benchmark show, we bring out a couple of new styles every year. This year, we have decided to “glam-up” some of the pieces from the Satellite Collection by adding 23 karat gold-leaf to the inside of the satellites. YES, it looks as awesome as it sounds! We got the idea to create this new look after a customer asked us to add some gold to a stunning silver one-of-a-kind necklace/brooch. I had gold-leafed a sculpture before and thought that would be an economical way for her to add some gold.

Check out the pictures below for an exclusive preview of our new addition to the Satellite Collection. And if you like what you see, make sure to see the pieces in person at the One of a Kind show in December! You can get complimentary tickets by clicking here. Besides the new satellites, we will also have many of our classics with different stones for you to pick and choose from!

Lillstreet Artisan Wedding Fair

Are you or is someone you know getting married soon? Are you/they looking to add some unique qualities to the event? If so, please come to the Artisan Wedding Fair at Lillstreet Art Center on Sunday, August 12, from 12pm – 4pm.

There will be a classical guitarist setting the mood with cocktails and gourmet nibbles making your taste buds go a little wild and several demonstrations, giving you plenty of new ideas for your big day! This is the perfect opportunity for you to meet local jewelry artists (such as me) who specialize in making you or your partner the perfect, one-of-a kind wedding ring or jewelry for your bridal party. There will also be other artists showing their handmade work helping to make your wedding wonderfully artful. You will also have a chance to talk to Migonette Bridal about designing your dream wedding gown!

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

And as if that isn’t already enough, you get to take home your very own handmade handkerchief, which you will be making during one of the demonstrations.

Because this is such a great event, and Lillstreet is going all out, space is limited. So get your tickets in advance for only $5 (advance ticket price can be applied to a minimum purchase of $25 from the Lillstreet Gallery, Limit 1 per person), or stop by and get a ticket at the door for $10. The first 50 people to arrive will get a tote bag filled with treats.

I have 3 free tickets so if you are interested in attending, please email me as soon as you can, they will go fast!

Hope to see you there 🙂
